This text provides in-depth discussion of Contracts. It is probably more thorough than your professor, but you can pick and choose which sections you want to read. It's not set up so that you must read the entire thing front he start. They have a case index that can be useful if you want to see what you're reading is in the book. Additionally, the general index in the back is extremely helpful.My only critique is that one subject might be discussed in multiple sections of the book, causing you to flip lots of pages and speed read quite a bit. However, it's a useful tool if you find yourself to be struggling with contracts!
Approaching final exam time, I really just felt like I needed to hear the content of the Contracts course from a different perspective. This book broke everything down and gave some helpful recommendations as to approaching the issue. As with all supplements, I would suggest renting from a library since you may not end up using it much, or at all, before finals week and may not want to pay for a book that you can't return at the end of the semester.
Honesty very long-winded. The author needs to work on being more concise. For instance Ch 12 on Parole Evidence could have been reduced significantly because the purpose of parole evidence was explained in different degrees of specificity approx 3 separate times. Why not just do that once at the beginning of the chapter? There are more concise supplements out to help explain the hot mess that is contract law.
Bought this for year-end review but didn't end up cracking it since I had so much other material. I will save it for when I study for the bar.
The only reason that I understand Contracts is because of this book.
Very easy to read & explanations are very thorough.
Though it provides clear details about contract in general some of the topics were not specifically discuss in details.
This was my first semester trying the Examples and Explanation series and I loved it!I was fortunate enough to have the casebook written by Blum, the author of this supplement, and reading this book substantially helped with a deeper understanding of the subject. Even if using a different Contracts casebook, I would still recommend this supplement.
